Alviso Community Center
A joint-use community center project between the Santa Clara Unified School
District and the City of San Jose. This is a 2,337 sq.ft. education, gymnasium,
classroom and community service facility, which includes day care, food service and
recreation spaces.
|

Prototype Gymnasium
Conejo Unified School District
The project developed four (4) facilities which would serve the needs of the
larger Thousand Oaks community, yet still respond to the unique programmatic
issues at each Campus. Funding dictated a simple and efficient plan.
The design team was charged with building a consensus among the four site
committees, to develop a program which accommodates the various needs of the
users at all locations, while staying within strict square footage and unit
cost guidelines. Because the gym also provides recreational opportunities for
community-based groups, additional specialized requirements were incorporated
into the final solution.
The projects are now a welcome addition to a thriving community. These four
projects serve as a shining example of the BFGC “Keep It Simple” principle,
and will be a valuable resource for many years into the future.
