About BFGC: History
bfgc architects planners, inc., a professional corporation for the practice of architecture and planning, emerged from a firm founded in 1949, by Whitney Biggar, AIA. To accommodate growth, a Biggar and Cartnal partnership was established in 1968. A separate Frapwell and Ghezzi partnership, formed in 1964, was simultaneously expanding. In 1974, a merger of these two partnerships was completed to meet the demands of larger, more complex projects and an expanding, increasingly sophisticated clientele.
The growth and diversification of bfgc was further enhanced by another merger in 1987. The Engelien Tuculet Partnership joined the firm to continue service of more than eight hundred clients throughout California.
Now in its fifth decade, bfgc has established offices in Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, and San Jose with a talented staff of over 100 including over 30 licensed architects.
